"Personal data" refers to information that relates to you and can identify you. In this personal data policy, the terms "personal data" and "information about you" are used synonymously and interchangeably. You can usually use our website without providing us with any information other than technical data. Otherwise, the personal data we process about you usually comes from you or someone within your organisation in connection with the purchase and performance of our services, such as product and technology development, commissioning, service, maintenance and support. On certain pages, information from you will be requested, for example in connection with service matters or if you register to receive electronic newsletters. If you represent a company that is a supplier, contractor or consultant to us, the information may come from someone within your organisation or from you yourself. Furthermore, we may use information about you that we have obtained from other sources provided by third parties, such as marketing and sales activity companies.
The personal data about you that may be affected is:

Information from other sources – such as publicly available information or information from our partners.

In order for our processing of your personal data to be lawful, there must be a legal basis for this, i.e. that it is necessary to fulfil an agreement with you or a legal obligation incumbent upon us, that the processing is carried out after a balancing of interests, or that you have given your consent to specific processing. Below are examples of the purposes for which we process your personal data and the legal basis on which this is done.
ETP processes your personal data for various purposes. ETP mainly processes your data for the following purposes and on the following legal grounds:
One of our primary purposes for collecting personal data is to fulfil our obligations to our customers and suppliers, such as administering orders and fulfilling other commitments related to the purchase of our products and services, for accounting and invoicing purposes, sending out information for product safety purposes, and otherwise ensuring compliance with legal requirements (e.g. the Accounting Act).
Legal basis: Fulfilment of a contract or legal obligation, or if you are a representative, employee or otherwise represent an organisation that has entered into a contract with us – legitimate interest. ETP's legitimate interest in the aforementioned processing of personal data is to be able to fulfil the aforementioned contractual obligations or legal obligations.
Another main purpose for our use of personal data is to tailor our products and services. We use the data we collect to provide information about the products and services requested, but also to better understand our customers. To achieve this, we conduct customer surveys and market analyses, among other things. Furthermore, we use personal data for statistical purposes. Customer and market analyses and processing for statistical purposes are carried out at an aggregate level and are not intended to identify individual persons.
Legal basis: Legitimate interest. ETP's legitimate interest in processing the aforementioned personal data is to be able to offer you better products and services and a better purchasing and customer experience, as well as to provide you/your organisation with tailored offers and other relevant information.
We may use personal data, including contact details and information about date of birth, age, gender and leisure interests, to send newsletters by post, e-mail, text message or telephone to send newsletters, provide information about new products and services, campaigns, offers and other information about our products and services that we or our partners offer and that we believe may be of interest to you and your organisation. We may therefore use your information for direct marketing purposes, provided that we have not been instructed not to do so.
You may object to our use of your personal data for direct marketing purposes at any time by contacting us as described in section 11 below, or directly in our electronic mailings. Legal basis: Legitimate interest. ETP's legitimate interest in the above-mentioned processing of personal data is to be able to offer you/your organisation better products and services and a better purchasing and customer experience, as well as to provide you/your organisation with tailored offers and other relevant information.
We use cookies, electronic images and similar tracking technologies on our website and in our email communications. For more information about how we use cookies and similar technologies, please see our document "About cookies".
We treat your personal data with the utmost care and your data is only used by us and selected third parties.
Third parties, including group companies, that we engage to help us conduct our business (such as for IT and customer surveys) are in most cases only permitted to use your personal data on our behalf and for the specific tasks they are required to perform according to our instructions. They therefore act as our data processors. They are required to keep your personal data confidential and secure.
In order to perform a service for us or you/your organisation, offer better products and services, or for marketing purposes, we may also forward your personal data to other third parties, usually as independent data controllers, such as our strategic supplier partners where we act as their distributor (e.g. for project handovers, transactions or entire customer relationships, or for direct deliveries), freight service companies, insurance companies, banks/credit reference agencies or to advertising networks with which we collaborate.
We may also disclose personal data in other specific cases, e.g. when we have reason to believe that the data is necessary to identify, contact or bring legal action against someone who, for example, we have a claim against or who may have infringed on the website, or who has otherwise infringed or is infringing on our rights or property or the rights or property of our customers or other visitors/partners.
The processing of your personal data in accordance with this personal data policy may require your personal data to be transferred to a destination outside Sweden. The transfer of personal data to countries outside the EU/EEA will only take place to the extent permitted by law and therefore requires, for example, that the country in question has an agreement with the EU/EEA, that the country is considered to have adequate data protection legislation, or that we have entered into an agreement with the third party in question that they are required to apply clauses approved by the European Commission regarding the protection of personal privacy. You can find a list of approved third countries and standard clauses on the European Commission's website and on the Data Inspection Board's website regarding the transfer of data to third countries.
In accordance with the law, you have the right to request information about the personal data we hold about you after you have identified yourself and clearly stated what information you wish to access. Such a request must be in writing, signed by you, and sent to the address specified below in section 11. Furthermore, we may request additional information to ensure that the information is provided to the right person. We will respond to your request as soon as possible and within one month. In cases where we are unable to fulfil your request, we will notify you and explain why.
If you believe that the information about you is incorrect or incomplete, you have the right, in accordance with the provisions of the law, to contact us with a request for correction. We will correct or update the information about you as soon as reasonably possible. You also have the right, as prescribed by law, to request that the information about you be deleted or to request that we restrict the processing of your personal data and to withdraw any consent you may have given.
You also have the right, as provided for by law, to have the personal data you have provided to us transferred (ported).
Please note that we may be required to retain necessary personal data in connection with deletion, withdrawal of consent or porting in order to comply with our legal or contractual obligations. We may also be permitted by law to retain certain personal data to meet our business needs.
You have the right to object to such processing of your personal data that we carry out on the basis of a balancing of interests. In such cases, once you have specified which processing you object to, we must demonstrate that there are interests that outweigh your objection. You also have the right to object at any time to the processing of your personal data for direct marketing purposes.
Your personal data will only be stored for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this personal data policy or for as long as required by law or agreement. Personal data will be deleted or anonymised when it is no longer relevant for the purposes for which it was collected or is no longer required by law or agreement.
We process personal data in accordance with the laws on personal data processing that are in force at any given time. Personal data is stored in operating environments that use security measures to prevent unauthorised access. Reasonable standards for the protection of personal data are followed. These measures are taken to prevent unauthorised or unlawful processing of your data and accidental loss, destruction or damage to this data.
Should a personal data breach be discovered, it will be reported to the Data Protection Authority and to you in accordance with the law.

This privacy policy may be updated by us. If there are significant changes to this privacy policy, we will notify you by placing a clear notice on the website or by other appropriate means. We encourage you to review this privacy policy to stay informed about how we process your personal data.
If you believe that your personal data has been processed incorrectly, please report this to us as soon as possible. You also have the option of submitting a complaint to the Data Protection Authority regarding our processing of personal data.
